On the normal car, refilling the windshield wiper fluid is simple. You pop a hood, unscrew the cap on the reservoir, pour the fluid in.
Sure, you should probably use the funnel, but you don’t have to. Just be careful while you are pouring, and you will be fine.
But on the Alfa Romeo 4C, it is not that simple. Because of some insane chassis design and suspension packaging, the 4C doesn’t have the front trunk.
Even worse, while most mid-engine cars still have the pop-able hood, the 4C’s is fixed. And that make it quite the hassle to refill the windshield wiper fluid.
We can’t say we ever considered how you would accomplish this task while on any of our test drives. But now that we have seen the instructional video produced by Columbus, we have to admit, it’s even more complex than we could have possibly imagined. Who would have thought you would need to watch a video to figure this out?
Not only is it the multi-step process, it also requires multiple specialized tools.
Make sure you never lose that multi-piece funnel kit that comes with the vehicle—it’s uniquely shaped to snake down behind the fixed hood and into a deeply-buried washer fluid filler neck. Check out the rest of the process in this video.
