If Chevrolet didn’t convince you the new ZR2 Colorado is the performance-bred, offroading beast, the video below presentation just might do the trick.
At the Los Angeles Auto Show, the American automaker released the halo model for its Colorado line-up, capable of tackling rough terrain thanks to the plethora of upgrades and enhancements.
Although the ZR2 is based on the standard vehicle, it features the new, lifted Multimatic’s DSSV suspension setup, the wider track, 17×8 inch aluminum wheels wrapped in 31-inch Goodyear Duratrac off-road tires, steel-tube rocker protectors – just to name a few.
In charge of making the truck the capable offloading machine, is the advanced four-wheel-drive system that can offer nine driving configurations; and everything from pure RWD to 4WD with locked transfer case and front and rear differentials.
Powering the model is a 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft (372 Nm) of torque 3.6-litre V6, or the Duramax diesel delivering 181 horsepower and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque.
Chevrolet says the Colorado ZR2 is trail-ready right off the bat, there’s no reason not to believe them. Very cool truck and hope they also make it in diesel but I really want them to make a full size version.
