Britain is not exactly the best place to sell Mustangs. They are big, ghastly V8 things which are far more expensive there than they are here. And Britain certainly is not the best place to sell a Mustang Convertible. After all, it is raining there all the time.
This review will actually tell us some other reasons why the 2017 Ford Mustang Convertible is a bit off. Mat Watson from Carwow tested the 2017 Ford Mustang Convertible EcoBoost and found it is not exactly the best machine out there.
The suspension is softer, roof mechanism, although powered, is not automatic and seamless and then there are all the flimsy stuff on it which shatter that new-car feel. The car is allegedly fast and has decent fuel efficiency, but what is a Mustang without the rumble of a V8. It needs it badly.
What we have learned here is that the Mustang may not be exactly the best in terms of quality or refinement, but it definitely has a lot of character. While the BMW 4 series is in the same pricing range, it does lack that wow factor of the Mustang Convertible. Yet, it is far more refined, feels upscale and has engines crafted for European taste.
The 2017 Mustang Convertible is a fine car, but at least, go for the V8. It is just the right thing to do.
