The choices for factory car colors have come a long way since American industrialist Henry Ford stated that you can have any color as long as its black. In a world where roughly 70% of cars are bought in black, white, silver or grey finish, it’s awesome to see a splash of something different from time to time.
It appears that car shoppers have become too conservative in avoiding colors that stand out. Back in the ’50s and ‘60s, folks were driving cars in reds, pinks, baby blues and emerald greens. A decade on, people were buying cars in purples, neon, and some other putrid shades. It was certainly better than what we have today.
Car nuts need to hold back from boring hues and get back to buying bright and exciting rides. So without further ado, here are the eight best factory colors in order of appearance in the video: Chevrolet Lime Rock Green, Dodge Plum Crazy Purple, Aston Martin Racing Green, BMW Laguna Seca Blue, Ferrari Rosso Corsa Red, McLaren Acid yellow, Porsche Carrara White, and TVR Chromaflair.
