A Challenger SRT Hellcat figures in a drag race with a Challenger GT AWD. A bit unfair because the former has almost twice as much power as the latter. To make things a bit more fair, the Hellcat will only utilize about 500 hp by using the “Eco” mode and the GT will utilize launch control to get an even start.
Under the hood of the Hellcat is a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 that’s good for 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. As for the GT, the under-the-hood area is not as impressive but its 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 revs quickly and generates 305 hp and 268 lb-ft of torque.
The Hellcat may have ego-extending power but its tires aren’t wide enough to provide ample traction. The GT will likely have the edge at the start with its launch control but the Hellcat is expected to catch up when it gets some traction and when the horsepower kicks in. Watch and see which Challenger wins!
