If you are reluctant to call Porsche’s 911 GT3 RS the King of the Ring, then you can at least view it as some sort of Green Hell royalty. And with that in mind, this McLaren 675LT is in the great position to watch that throne as chases down the Porsche 911 GT3 RS for what should have been a full lap – except that the camera equipment stopped recording due to overheating towards the end, as stated in this video’s description. While the McLaren doesn’t actually have an official lap time on a Nurburgring, by the looks of things, it is definitely capable of edging out the GT3 RS’s 7:20.00 run. The reason why the Porsche GT3 RS is so quick in the first place is because it’s 22 lbs lighter than the GT3 while also pushing down 500 hp and 338 lb-ft of torque – resulting in a 62 mph sprint time of just 3.3 seconds. As for the McLaren 675LT, it’s not only lighter, but it packs way more power at 675 hp and plenty more torque at 516 lb-ft. It’s also 0.3 seconds quicker to 100 km/h than the 911 GT3 RS and faster overall by 12 mph once maxed out. And no, you don’t need two racing drivers to figure out that the McLaren pulls just the little harder as soon as it exits the corner, before starting to gain on the Porsche GT3 RS – slowly but surely. Still, that Porsche looks incredibly poised on the track, wouldn’t you say?
