Our favourite guy from the Engineering Explained YouTube channel had a go in the Ford GT350 and the magic happened. He fell in love. We are not even surprised as the car he drove is about as epic as a muscle car can get.
Bear in mind the Ford Shelby GT350 is one of the most potent versions of the latest Ford Mustang thus giving the muscle car enthusiast a whole lot to think when picking up between the Mustang, Camaro or the Challenger.
The 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 features a 5.2L flatplane V8 engine producing 526 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. This is not as much as engine in other top-notch muscle cars produce, but it is more than enough. Actually, the flat plane crank system gives it a rather unique engine note no other car in this segment can reproduce.
It is possibly the best V8 ear experience one can have. Engineering Explained went and showcased why Shelby GT350 is that great. Also noted on YouTube – “There’s new aero work for enhanced cooling beneath the car, as well as a rear differential cooler for the TORSEN limited slip diff at the back. Keeping the cooler at the rear of the car means shorter coolant routing, saving weight and complexity.”
