If you have been following our work as diligently as I believe you should have, you then had plenty of opportunities to see various footage that involves the interaction between military aircraft and beachgoers. These events can be either carefully planned and strictly controlled, as in this amazing video of Blue Angels performing their stunts during Pensacola Air Show but can also be the wholly improvised trolling of civilians as committed by the Russian pilots.
But here’s something that you only get to witness once in a lifetime.
This infamous footage was captured during 2002 Lowestoft Air Festival that shows a Harrier pilot ejecting right next to a beach filled with swimmers after suffering a major engine failure during an acrobatic maneuver.
Ironically, the RAF pilot still managed to sustain minor injuries by somehow landing directly onto the ditched jet in the shallows. I’m pretty certain this particular sequence of events will probably never occur again, and I mean – ever.
