Aston Marting isn’t primarily known for making the fastest supercars in the world, but looking at the specs on the latest 2017 DB11, the situation might be changing. Naturally, the elegant design of the predecessors is definitely still noticeable, and the luxurious interior is a must, but apart from that, this vehicle has a hidden trick up its sleeve.
That’s right, we are talking about this monstrous 5.2L V12 engine, capable of delivering 600 horsepower to the wheels, along with 516 lb-ft of torque! Couple that with a brand new eight-speed automatic transmission, and you have every component necessary for a proper racer.
However, compared with the competition cars, the DB11 isn’t necessarily lightweight, and that can take a toll on the performances as well. Aston engineers claim that it can reach 60 mph from a standstill in only 3,9 seconds, but is that truly the case?
Well, today, we’re about to find out, as people behind Youtube’s Motor Trend Channel took it out on a dragstrip for a couple of acceleration tests. Will this grand tourer surprise us with mind-boggling numbers, or will it fail miserably? Watch the video and find out.
