Ford made considerable advancements with the introduction of a current sixth-generation Mustang, ditching the live rear axles for the fully independent suspension, introducing the compact EcoBoost turbo four as the alternative to the V8, and taking the old retro design in the new direction.

It only stands to reason, then, that the Power Wheels version should follow suit. Designed to emulate the real thing, a new Smart Drive Mustang is the most advanced Power Wheels yet.

It features the computerized powertrain that incorporates traction control, stability control, and the launch control. The electronic traction control system monitors wheel slip and the adjusts output to optimize traction.

The stability monitor detects when the car approaches roll-over and cuts off power. And the launch control system (of sorts) ramps up and slows down a motor incrementally instead of the old on/off throttle.

As if that’s not smart enough, well, the downsized pony car also features the LED touchscreen to monitor battery levels and allow parents to control the speed limiter in increments and from 1 mile per hour to 5.

There’s even the built-in sound system that plays the real Mustang’s engine and exhaust note, can play music through an auxiliary jack through the biggest speaker Fisher-Price has ever used. So, want to see it in action? Scope it out in this video .
