Ten years ago, having the 707 horsepower road-legal muscle car like the Dodge Challenger or the Charger would have made absolutely no sense. Heck, even in 2017, and it seems amazing that such the powerful car is relatively easily available to the masses.
What is perhaps even crazier than a Hellcat-powered creations from the Dodge itself are a custom engine swaps that have benefited more docile vehicles like the Ram 1500 and, in this case, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.
Created in the U.S., this 707 horsepower Jeep, nicknamed Hellhawk, took to a Maple Grove Raceway in Pennsylvania and managed to record the blistering 10.8 second quarter mile exiting at 128 mph (206 km/h).
To put that time into perspective, this Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is almost a second slower, with the official claimed time of 11.6 seconds.
A 10.8 second 1/4 mile also puts this Jeep alongside supercars like the Acura NSX, Nissan GT-R and Ferrari 458 Speciale.
That is pretty impressive for something that could easily take the kids to the school and handle all the grocery shopping.
