Jaguar had a multitude of really special cars throughout its history. Its XK series, E-type cars, and special racing cars were as amazing as it gets. Now, Jaguar introduced the continuation series making exact replicas or finishing off long forgotten series of cars.
That way we have received a few all-new old E-types and the latest from the Continuation series is the Jaguar XKSS recently revealed at the Los Angeles Motor Show.
XKSS prototype was one of the most intoxicating cars from the Fifties. They were basically road going versions of the racing Le Mans-winning D-Type. Jaguar built only 25 of them, but nine perished in a great fire in a factory back in the time. The rest of them became the most valuable pieces of art history of all time.
Even Steve McQueen had one and his was sold for an auction for $30 mil. Continuation series means Jaguar will build all nine of the cars that perished in the fire.
They will not cheat at all – the company and its employees will build it as cars were once built – by hand. The first one appeared at the Los Angeles Motor Show and we already know each unit will cost $1.5 million. Better than $30 mil for sure.
