The next film in the Cars franchise is all about a future. No, there aren’t electric cars, but it is full of youngsters aiming to usurp a star of the series, Lightning McQueen.
The newest trailer, which premiered during a Daytona 500, shows Lightning McQueen attempting to get his mojo back after what appears to be the huge crash.
There’s also a familiar voice in the trailer. It sounds to me like it is Doc Hudson, aka Paul Newman, who passed away in 2008.
It wouldn’t be impossible in this age of movie magic, since there have been the number of actors that have passed on making appearances in recent films thanks to new computer tech. And it might be harder to do it with just the voice. It will be interesting to see how this works.
We also learned this week that the number of new NASCAR drivers will be in the film playing up-and-coming drivers, like Ryan Blaney, Chase Elliott, and Darrell Wallace Jr., among others.
These drivers will surely be the ones that motivate McQueen, who is no longer the newcomer and is now the old pro, to get back to the front of the Piston Cup field. Check out the trailer below:
