If you have got two supercars that were inherently built to rival each other and they both have the same amount of hp, there’s no way you can predict the outcome. There are quite a few differences between the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 and the Porsche 911 Turbo S, but also a couple of important similarities, starting with the 580 horsepower produced by their engines. They also both feature 7-speed dual clutch gearboxes and…that’s pretty much it in terms of what makes them similar. Whereas the Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2 is a rear-wheel driven supercar, the Porsche 911 Turbo S sends its power to all four wheels. Moreover, when it comes to torque, Turbo S boasts no fewer than 553 lb-ft to the Lambo’s 398 lb-ft. Being naturally aspirated explains the Huracan’s deficit in pulling power when compared to the twin-turbo Porsche, however the Lamborghini tips the scales at 3,346 lbs, which makes it lighter than the 3,692 lbs 911. On paper, the Lambo Huracan needs 3.4 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standstill, while the Porsche 911 Turbo S needs just 2.9 seconds. Same thing with their top speed – the 911 Turbo S will go 6.2 mph faster once it maxes out at 205 mph. So yes, the German supercar does have torque and traction on its side, and this drag race features a rolling start, which levels out the playing field a bit.
