A driver caused the four-car crash while trying to overtake a series of vehicles in North Carolina recently, before fleeing the scene.
The incident occurred just after 3 PM on Friday. The culprit was in the process of (illegally) overtaking yet another vehicle, before sliding back into his lane, causing incoming drivers to slam on the brakes.
The result was the three-car pileup plus an additional car crashing off-road. What’s even worse is that the man in a dark sedan didn’t even stop after what had happened.
It’s quite possible that the vehicles traveling in the opposite direction were perhaps too close together, and though that doesn’t excuse that one driver’s negligent behavior in any way.
And the way the entire crash went down is that after the first car slammed on the brakes, it was immediately rear-ended by the trailing car.
Then, the third car swerved to miss the crash, ending up on the grass near the road, followed by the fourth car rear-ending the second one. Hopefully local police will be able to track down the man responsible for this accident using the video below.
