A few days back it was reported that Richard Hammond, the c0-host of The Grand Tour, was involved in a horrific crash wherein the 220 mph Rimac Concept One supercar that he was driving smashed into a wall end burst into flames. After that, multiple versions of the incident surfaced, but as was initially reported, Hammond was rushed by an air ambulance to the St. Gallen Hospital sans any life-threatening injuries.
The video below proves just that as Richard greets us from his hospital bed and from his smile and sense of humor, it looks like everything will turn out just fine. As a matter of fact, he said that he will undergo surgery to fix his busted knee so he could go out driving once again ASAP. He really looks to be in high spirits and has come to terms with the unfortunate turn of events.
James May recorded the video as Richard gives his anxious fans an update about his condition, which is great because when the public has various sources reporting conflicting information, it’s difficult to process until you hear the truth straight from the horse’s mouth. We wish Richard a speedy recovery because season two of The Grand Tour won’t be the same without him!
