While some consider a Carrera GT dangerous, the simple fact is that with the skilled driver behind the wheel, it is amongst the most capable supercars and can achieve some incredible things, such as the 7:28 lap time at the Nurburgring.

While he probably wasn’t chasing the records, one owner recently took his Porsche to Germany’s most famous race track and drove it the way it was designed to be driven.

Free of any intrusive safety and driving aids, the Porsche Carrera GT is rightfully labeled one of the last great supercars that put all the responsibility into the hands of a brave person behind the wheel.

As the video below proves, the car is right at home at the racetrack, despite being over the decade old. The screaming V10 engine is unquestionably the vehicle’s highlight.

Displacing 5.7-liters,the motorsport-derived powertrain delivers 612 horsepower, helping to accelerate the Carrera GT to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.5 seconds and onto the 205 mph (330 km/h) top speed.

Making the vehicle all the more unique is the wooden gear knob inspired by a legendary 917 Le Mans racer. And driving doesn’t get any better. And nice powerslide at the end. I´m glad that this car is driven like for what it was build for.
