Up to this date, there were already 10 versions of Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution where each version is mostly numbered sequentially in Roman Numerals. It is also very interesting to note that Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution is intended only for Japanese Market but demand on the “grey import” market led the Evolution series to be offered through Ralliart dealer networks in the United Kingdom and in various European markets from around 1998. All the ten versions were powered by 2.0 L Inline four turbocharged engine which claims to have an output that only reaches 276 horsepower due to the Gentlemen’s agreement to advertise no more than 280 PS but the later versions were proven to produce power beyond the said limit which r eaches up to 440 horsepower. The tenth and final generation of the Lancer Evolution was launched in Japan 2007, and overseas markets in 2008. They were offered with special production number badges. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution was also widely recognized and received numerous award during it production years.
