1949 Ford Custom
It obvious just looking at the 1949 Ford Custom that it had immaculate style. It was the first vehicle introduced by the Big Three ( GM, Ford & Chrysler) after WWII and they certainly came back with a bang.
After the war people were looking for a fresh start and that also applied to the vehicles they were driving. Ford offered an all new sleek design that was very different than any of the other cars available at the time.
As a result, the 1949 Custom helped boost Ford’s sales and get the company back to the forefront of the automotive industry. Equipped with a Flathead V8 the car had reasonable power that made it a great daily driver.
The engine was pushed toward the front of the vehicle so that the driver would have more space in the cabin. Overall, the car was made to be stylish, practical and all around amazing.
It is no surprise that it became the engineering blueprint that the entire American industry would follow for the next 35 years. Few automotive enthusiasts can forget the impact the Ford custom had on the automotive world. It was a classic car back in the 40’s and will remain an icon for the decades to come.
