1948 Ford F Series
We already had one F series featured on the list, but even more than the revamped F-100, the 1948 F series shifted the automotive market. The ’48 was the first generation of the F series pick up and the first post war truck design from Ford. Consumers responded with excitement when the truck hit production and showed the world that cars were not all that drivers wanted on the streets.
In fact, after the ’48 Ford was released a large boom in pick up trucks happened all throughout the automotive market. The trucks were equipped with a Flathead 6 engine that let out close to 100HP. They were meant to be practical and comfortable as daily drivers and they certainly lived up to expectations.
Drivers enjoyed the new experience on the road and it continued decades after the first pickup hit production. To this day, Ford’s F series reign supreme in the automotive world.
However, none of it would have been possible if the 1948 Ford F Series would not have been created by the Ford company. Ford is known for building game changing vehicles and the F series was certainly no exception. Therefore, it only makes sense that it would land within the top 5 best Ford’s of all time.
