1982 Ford Mustang GT
It seemed like after the 70’s nobody cared about high powered vehicles anymore. All over the road were low powered, practical daily drivers that offered no fun to the drivers daily commute. However, everything changed when the 1982 Ford Mustang GT hit the production line.
Once again, Ford showed that power was where it was at and it was all thanks to the high output 4.9L small block engine. Ford was determined to build an immaculate Mustang and they certainly succeeded.
The new GT featured a re-engineered engine with new valves, a more aggressive cam, a larger twin-barrel carburetor, and a revised firing order, as well as a better breathing intake and exhaust system. Everything about this GT excited consumers and the quality build has continued to success throughout the decades.
Nearly 33 years since it’s production debut, the Ford Mustang GT still remains a consumer favorite. For a while consumer’s forgot about the thrill that Ford could offer and the 1982 brought it back to the front burner. Who knows where we would be at today if the iconic Ford Mustang GT would not have made a comeback!
