The Guinness Book of World Records is chock full of records and that relate to burnouts and drifting. We have seen the record for largest simultaneous burnout, longest burnout on the motorcycle, longest continuous drift, longest twin-vehicle drift.
Even though there are plenty of the records related to shredding tires, Guinness has just added one for the largest tire mark image. The image was created by the Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies and Al Jazirah Ford Racing in Saudi Arabia.
It was part of the campaign to raise awareness for breast cancer. The image that was created was a breast cancer awareness ribbon and measured 9,515 square feet. And it took the two drivers in Ford Mustang RTR-Ds 45 minutes to create the image with tires that emitted pink smoke during the burnouts.
The two drivers, Muath Al-Essa and Abdulhadi Al-Qahtani, are both members of the Al Jazirah Ford Racing Team. We commend the drivers for raising awareness for breast cancer in such the cool way.
The only time we remember such the large tire mark image was when “Top Gear” “accidentally” drew the gentleman’s sausage on the storm drain.
But the show’s efforts had nothing to do with the funding testicular cancer research or any other charitable cause. The Top Gear stunt may have been funny, and the work of Al Jazirah Vehicles Agencies and the Al Jazirah Ford Racing was far more meaningful.
