New BMW M5 is about to hit the roads. And before finishing it up, the Motorsport will try to sharpen it up. Here is the video of it chiseling on its driving characteristics. The BMW M5 may be courageous enough to accept four wheel drive, but don’t think for a minute it will become boring. No, no no.
The Motorsport apparently developed the four wheel drive system which can be turned on or off at any point. The system called the M xDrive allows the driver to change from a four wheel drive to a two wheel drive in seconds.
CEO of BMW’s M division Frank van Meel says the system uses an M Steptronic eight-speed transfer case especially suited for this particular four-wheel drive system. In the all-wheel drive mode, this center differential sends power to the front wheels when the rears run out of grip, per instructions from a Central Intelligence Unit.
All in all, we do know the Bimmer will use a really powerful engine. We are talking here about the 600hp V8 now getting that power to all four wheels if really needed.
Also, this will certainly be the BMW 5 series capable of slashing to 62 mph in 3.5seconds. Top speed, if delimited may go a lot above 200 mph. After all, E90 could do 204 mph.
