With great power comes great responsibility, perhaps you’re better off with an MX-5, especially on the circuit. For starters, you won’t have to explain why the Porsche 911 Turbo S is faster than you, as opposed to the other way around; like, say, in the video below.

A well-balanced car is all you need to conquer the track, albeit being behind the wheel of the full-bred supercar might help as well, more so if you have the skill to back up the vehicle’s performance. Unfortunately for this Porsche 911 Turbo S driver, the guy chasing him in the Mazda MX-5 was more zealous and, we guess, more experienced, and proving that power isn’t everything if you have what it takes to hang on.

Well, the most outstanding thing is the fact that a little roadster isn’t even the latest ND model, but a 1st-gen NA. However, it is a Spec variant, which means it was purposefully built for the track usage. Well, spec Miatas use specific Bilstein shock with the adjustable coil-over suspension with Eibach springs and adjustable front and rear sway bars, steel braided brake lines.

It only weighs 2300 pounds, if it’s a 1.6-litre, and may run a modified air box – providing the owner chose to keep it stock. Still, it’s a long way from the Turbo S’ monstrous 552 horsepower, 700 Nm of torque output, that can catapult it from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds, as can be seen by the German car’s performance on the straights. What it lost there, though, the MX-5 more than made up under braking and in corners.
