The idea for the Sport Turismo was born at the Paris Motor Show in 2012. Five years later in Geneva, the top honchos at Porsche were present for the world premier of the production version of the car: the Panamera Sport Turismo.
This new Sport Turismo shooting brake looks a lot like 2012’s concept car. That means it adds a whole load of swagger to the Panamera sports saloon. Folks at Porsche tweaked the rear sheetmetal of its short-wheelbase Panamera sedan in order to create one of the most exotic luxury sport wagons in the world.
It’s a 4+1 seater and the butt lift added more rear headroom and about 4% more cargo room. To be precise, the power-operated tailgate rises to reveal a 520-liter boot. There’s also a spoiler at the rear end of the roof – the first of its kind on an estate car – to compensate for the modified curvature and to produce up to 50 kg of downforce for better road holding.
All-wheel drive is standard, and the Panamera Sport Turismo will share the same engine range as its saloon brother, from the 330-hp 3.0-liter V6 to the 550-hp twin-turbo V8.
