Recently, this three-rotor Mazda RX-7 of Rob Dahm set the new rotary half-mile record. Unluckily, the heavily-modified sports vehicle was crashed just the matter of hours later.
As described by Rob Dahm himself in the video below, he was driving home in the three-rotor Mazda RX-7 with the ultra-sticky drag radial tires still fitted when a heavens unexpectedly opened.
The moment was captured on the dash cam of the Dahm’s support car immediately behind and shows the three-rotor Mazda losing traction at the flick of the switch, darting it into the adjacent lane before spinning almost the full 720-degrees around and bouncing off a highway guardrail.
Fortunately, the contact was only minor and the car escaped the ordeal with nothing more than the scratched and dented front bumper. Money can help you build a fast car, but money can’t make you drive it the way its supposed to be driven.
We are waiting to see the first Dodge Challenger Demon crashes caused by its drag radials…
